Emma – Clinical Direction & Complex Care

Emma focuses on initial assessments, complex or unclear cases, and treatment planning, particularly when pain patterns involve the nervous system, long-standing compensation, or multiple contributing factors. She excels at helping clients understand what’s happening in their bodies, identifying the phase of healing they’re in, and creating a clear, thoughtful plan forward. Emma often remains involved at a directional level, ensuring care stays aligned even when treatment continues with another practitioner.
Manual osteopathy integrates contemporary medical knowledge with traditional osteopathic philosophy, creating a holistic, patient-centered approach to healthcare. Osteopathic manual practitioners are uniquely trained to 'listen' to the body through their hands, tuning into the body's innate wisdom. This method allows for a gentler treatment compared to more conventional modalities, focusing on the whole person rather than just the symptomatic areas.

Best known for managing neuro-musculo-skeletal disorders—including back and neck pain, sciatica, sports injuries, and postural strains—manual osteopathy emphasizes the importance of structural balance. By optimizing the body's structure, it enhances overall function and health. The practice prioritizes scientific plausibility and evidence-based outcomes in all patient treatments and case management, ensuring each approach is tailored to individual needs and wellness goals.

(accepting new clients)

Advanced Integrative Energy Healing (AIEH) is a holistic, trauma-informed healing modality. It supports harmony within the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of yourself.

Sessions are co-created and move at the client’s pace, bringing awareness to what the body is communicating through somatic awareness (sensations in the body) and the practitioner’s sense of the energy field and chakra system. During a session, the practitioner works to bring balance to the energy field and holds space for the client to process emotions or situations that are ready to be witnessed and released.

After a session, clients often report reduced pain and stress, a deeper connection to themselves, greater awareness of how their body communicates, and a sense of lightness from releasing denser energy and emotions. Many also describe feeling more grounded and present in the moment. The practitioner will share tools to support nervous system regulation and maintain balance and flow in the energy field between sessions.

Emma is passionate about health, well being and the natural perfection of the human body. She has a solid base in science and evidence-based practice as a Physiotherapist (educated in Germany) and an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (DOMP). Her passion for Osteopathy began in 2004, in Germany where she worked in an Osteopathic clinic as a Physiotherapist specializing in manual therapy. After taking several courses in Cranial Sacral Therapy, Emma decided it was time to pursue her passion for osteopathy and completed her diploma as an osteopathic manual practitioner (DOMP).

Presently, Emma loves to work with clients that feel “stuck” in their healing. Clients who have chronic pain, fatigue, headaches, injury, trauma, stress, brain fog, trouble sleeping and are seeking improvement. Emma believes that pain is an opportunity for change, and through osteopathic techniques, cranial sacral therapy and manual therapy, the underlying cause can be addressed on a deep level.

In addition to her love of science, Emma is passionate about the mind, neuroscience, and the influence that one’s thoughts and emotions have on one’s healing journey. It is through her own dedication to meditation and spiritual practices that she brings her knowledge of mind, spirit, and osteopathy to the table in an artful form of “listening” to what the client’s body has to say. Through this merging of science and spirit, Emma finds her calling to guide others on their journey to health. She feels honored to share this unique combination of holistic wellness practice.

Emma is a member of the Osteopathy Chronic Pain Clinics of Canada, and The Canadian Alliance for Alternative Medicine (ACMA).

We are excited to announce that depending on your coverage and insurer you will be able to use your extended health coverage insurance benefits for Manual Osteopathy!

My name is Alicia Schaefer and I am an Advanced Integrative Energy Healing practitioner. My practice is focused on creating a safe space for people to bring awareness into subconscious patterns that are impacting their day to day lives. My goal during sessions is to empower people to connect with their own intuition, create embodied resources, and bring awareness to what their body is trying to communicate.

I use a combination of energy work and somatic awareness to help clients explore what is going on in their body in the present moment. During sessions I guide clients to access their sympathetic nervous system where deep relaxation, releasing trauma and healing can unfold.

I am a Certified Natural Health Practitioner of Canada, AIEH Practitioner, and have an Advanced Certification in Co-occurring Disorders. Prior to graduating the AIEH program I worked within the social services setting for 10+ years. I have worked in various positions to provide support to children, mothers and their families. It was through this line of work that I found my desire to work with people on a deeper level of healing.
